Ok so this wirless (worthless) malarky is about to go out the window, Ive tried everything and now i give up befor i take it out on my pc.

Had a mate who works for BT come over and the only rought he can take is not acceptable with landlord
So a extension line isnt possible.

The only choices i have is:

Move out back home to my dads (meal cooked for me every night + 10 meg direct connection)

Or stay here and try out these new power socket networks plugs on a 512k.

This is the question I realy want answerd. Are they any good?

The 200Mbps ones are good provided your electrical wiring is reasonably new. I had some for my 360 and they worked fine. Didnt get 200Mbs transfer out of them but around 80-100.

What exactly is the problem you are having with wireless gaming then? As Im about to move about my room and thinking of going wireless totally and I game on fps and am confident I will have no probs. Loads of people have no probs with it.

Looks like it could be a line problem. Even if it's not, it won't be wireless technology to blame, plenty of people get on fine with it. Just make sure it's set up correctly and it should be fine. I do understand the whole "Sod it, I want wires back" feeling however.

Wireless gaming here is fine, even when only at half strength.

Try tweeking your wireless router, I seem to find channel 6 is the best, with operating on only B or G standard (depending on your setup).

I use WPA-PSK with a 15-character key.

I have been using wireless for gaming with no problems for a couple of years.

Even used to get pings of 4ms when I was on Bulldog.

The powerline stuff is good, however you need to rule out other problems first, if it is your line then you will be kicking yourself if you wasted a ton on powerline stuff and the problem is just as bad

Buy a bloody long CAT5 cable first for a few quid and do as he say's above, check it's not your connection playing up as opposed to your wireless

Similar position myself. PoE looking like the way forward. I dunno though I don't want to throw money at something that should work.

Gettings lots of dropped connections latley. Despite my router (URS9106) being power cycled infinite amounts of times.

Tried different channel too but it seems futile.

I'm sat here unable to RDP in atm 'cause of this crap.
