Hey people
After about a year of runing my e7200 at 3ghz and after reading up about everyone hitting 3.8 / 4ghz will all there cpu's i thought id give it another go.
PC specs.
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.53GHz (1066FSB)
Asus P5Q Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Saphire 4870 512mb @ stock for the mo
Enermax Liberty 620w
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler
Noctua NF-S12 1200RPM 120mm Silent Case Fan - 3 Pin
2x 160gb Seagate Baracudas 7100.9
Coolermaster Staker ( Original HUGE one)
SORRY ABOUT PIC QUALITY THEY ARE FROM MY PHONE
after this the 4870 needs to be clocked
The reason i stoped at 3ghz was temp issues i was hitting mid 70's.
I have droped the multi and upped the FSB also managed to drop the voltage
Now I am going to Lap the heat sink and CPU.
220 / 400 / 600 / 800 / 1500
glass out of a photo frame got to hide that from my mum now
The nickle base of the TRUE
As you can see not very level.
After about an hour of lapping ether the base is very hard or i was doing it wrong as it took ages on the 220 grit paper
Started with the 600 at this point.
Good old jack to keep me company.
Not the finish i was expecting but it will do for a first go
Now for the CPU
Finished CPU again not perfect but i have spare paper
The finish was not perfect but after 6 hours of lapping my arm was tired so i though sod it thats enough. can always come back to it if it will make a diffrence.
End result
Now iv managed to get up to 3.5 but im stuck again now
My room is like a furnace atm so probably not the best time to be ding this as temps are in the 70's again
