Sid Meier is back with a new Alpha Centauri (1999), one of the greatest sci-fi turn based strategy games I've ever played. Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth as it's titled, will not be a simple remake of Alpha Centauri but rather a "what would happen after Civilization V" (according to the devs).

Just done a quick update to the article!

There will be orbital devices.

Goals:
- Find proof of existence of an ancient life on the planet and try to make a first contact,
- Resume contact with Earth by deploying a satellite,
- Return to Earth (if you find out it still exists),
- Host Terran refugee on your new planet.

Makes me feel better that it was posted on the 12th and not 1st! Had my heart pounding for a second there haha

I wish neil would stop hiding links linking to his site all the time.

About the news, interesting but im not much into the modern gfx style of civ 5 engine which this is gona be using i think.

I have no choice as I've said many times before, type in the url and see what happens.

EDIT : This was because I used to link to my articles, when the news was then linked from another source. Instead of just linking directly to say bluesnews or any other gaming site. 98% of the time now I write my own articles for developers and my own views. Advertising my website when it wasn't even my own news source was a big no no. So I wont go down that route again!

Details need to be a bit sharper and I'm already running ultra plus it's a little stuttery at times coming from one city to another. Apart from that, i had to stop playing or I'll be addicted :p

I thought it was released tomorrow?

I'll repeat myself, I get access to games that are not yet available to retail and or general locations. Such as the Legend of Grimrock 2 that appeared two weeks before Steam. You won't believe how many developer emails we get, from all parts of the industry. We were one of the first ones to mention the game originally too :). We should also have The Witcher 2 as well before release, if our affiliates like us :D

Not really, just putting my thoughts across, like I did with LOG2 :)

I'll stop now anyway! Enjoy tomorrow's release
