Civ IV > Civ II > Civ V > Civ III imo.

I didnt play the first one, its been said on the fansites that only the even numbers were good

civ IV didn't really become a great game till a few expansions in it'll probably be the same with 5, and i wish they'd release a pitboss for it too

Thats been patched, turn times are GREATLY reduced now. I would give it another go.
