I stumbled upon this today for the very first time, and wow, its such a subtle and simple change, but very effective

It basically adds colour to your finder's sidebar. Im currently running mountain lion too.

They had colours in Snow Leopard.

Actually, one thing I have noticed is that it overwrites the icons for the new tags feature like so:

I think this software uses SIMBL so I'm hoping I can tweak it to bring them back.

The icons don't change in file dialog windows, and the Dock seems to be hidden when one is open also.

im going to wage that when mavericks does get released, that will be updated

but yeh it does use SIMBL. Good Luck with it!

I use XtraFinder which does this and more. Free too.

Ooo i may have to take a look seems TotalFinder costs money

XtraFinder is a lot better than TotalFinder, and actually stable.
