I have a copy of Freespace 2, newly supported on all sorts of operating systems by the good people on gog.com, and I want to play it again. I got my old FF joystick down from the loft, the wonderful (and expensive at the time) sidewinder ff pro and found I couldn't even plug it into my computer - i'd forgotten about the old gameport interface! The days before USB eh.
My question is; how am I going to make this work with my current, modern setup. Clearly I need to buy an old soundcard for the gameport, fair enough. But where can I get working FF drivers? For XP? I could install that. I can't install windows 98, as there's obviously no drivers for my gtx8800!
Anyone been through this dilemma and got any advice?
TIA!
