Hi guys,
A question for those that have used these keyboards, what are your opinions of them? I want to replace my half dead old keyboard with a new one and the only competition seems to be between these two models

Cheers,
shroomz

I am currently using the X4 and for the price its really good. Good macro set up. Backlight is red and adjustable in brightness.

Keys are pleasant to type on and it has anti-ghosting. Overall for £30 I am really pleased with it. By all means pm any other questions if you want.

I dont think you'll go wrong with either of them, i had the Saitek for around 3 years it's a very nice board but i got mine for £19.99 so it's gone up quite abit.

I just went for Sidewinder x4, im giving Saitek a break since ive had eclipse 1, 2 and one cheap Saitek backlit keyboard. The Microsoft one does look a lot more pleasing to the eye.

Ordered an X4, RM 1st class is the MM special today so will probably be delivered tomorrow (Sat). Will update this thread with my thoughts once it arrives although judging by the praise its been receiving left right and centre, it'll probably be nothing new :D

So the keyboard arrived today (apparently, RM do deliveries on Sundays too in the run-up to Christmas. Awesome!).
Initial impressions feel good, the keys are a little harder than I am used to coming from a laptop keyboard, but it's something I could easily get used to. My only gripe is that Microsoft Keyboard doesn't seem to be able to set the macro keys to start a program in windows but that's fairly minor and I'm sure I'll be able to find a registry hack somewhere to do this (I like having Firefox, Word, Excel and Steam bound to shortcut keys a la my Acer laptop )

Yes you can.

If you've installed the Intellitype software you can set the 6 "S" keys to start a program, web page or file.

Yeah you're right, I just went straight into "Assign Macro" rather than Configure. Panic over, you can totally set program shortcuts to the S keys, I'm not a tard !
