Sig Filesize Rule

I got my sig removed because it was 10kb over the size limit.

Now, I understand the height and width rules but what is the reason for the filesize limit considering the image is hosted on my Dropbox account?

Not complaining, just curious.

The bigger the file, the longer it takes the page to load.

It's 2012. <100KB images will load almost instantaneously. The OcUK logo alone is greater than 20KB...

It's not too difficult to reduce the file size. If you link me to the sig image, I'll downsize it for ya
