Having problems keeping the quality while getting it below 20kb, im a novice at photoshop so don't really know what I am doing. Anyone have any tips?

Save for web & devices, select jpeg and reduce the image quality, enter amount or use the slider (top right):

This is 86% and 14.6k

It's under 20kb at the moment. If you have a higher quality image but it's bigger in file size, try doing Save for Web and Devices from the File menu.

i found gif file format was best for my sig as the quality with jpeg was too low when under 20kb

Thanks may have a play around when I get back to my pc. The original was much higher quality, to get it under 20kb I had to adjust the slider to no. 1 or 2 I think.
