SIGMA 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM F/CANON Firmware Update

According to Canon Rumors, a firmware update is available from Sigma for the SIGMA 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM for Canon.

Firmware does the following

It has improved the Auto Focus speed of “Standard” and “Speed-priority” modes.
It has improved the focus accuracy when it is mounted on Canon EOS-1D Mark III or Canon EOS-1D Mark IV

I'm not sure if this applies to my lens version or how I would use it

Mine is
120-300mm apo, hsm, dg, os
Ie not the sports S version

Is this saying I could plug the dock in and away it goes?
I have an ever so slightly suspicion that this is front focusing and can't change it anyway as I don't have a 7d
