Sigma 80-400 Problem

Seem to be having a problem with the OS system on mine, recently its been showing a strange problem when the auto focus is pressed and the OS system is switched on the image in the view finder jumps about when i move the zoom around, and its been suffering Err 01 a couple of times too. doesnt seem to have any problems with the OS switched off, reckon its something to do with the OS? guess what its 3 days out of the year warranty and i need it for RIAT in like 2 weeks so im in a tight jam

You could try cleaning the contacts on the lens but I expect you will have to get the lens serviced.

I sent it back about 4 months ago to have the lock button fixed and it says on the invoice that they checked the lens over and tested it out so could that of been a service?

Can you try it on another camera.

a lower end sigma lens needed to be chipped to function properly on my 20d at first.

was on my 30D and it was having problems so i went back to the car to get my 300D and its doing the same on that. Like i said its fine without the OS switched on so im thinking something has gone with that

just had an email back from sigmauk and they say they would honor the warranty even though its a few days over the end date, thumbs up to them

yeah a few companies will do that. Always pleasing. hope you get it back soon.
