signal out of range windows 7

Hi guys,

basically just installed windows 7 onto my pc.

It boots up to saying 'starting windows' then the screen will just go black and say (signal of out of range).

so i boot to safe mode, disable gcard and it will boot up fine.

i can also boot up fine in low-res mode 640x480

tried installing drivers, but it still goes signal out of range

rig is:
amd 64bit 3700
1gb ram
x800xl

pretty standard, old.... dunno why it won't work.

any help?

What's the native res of the monitor and what are you using to connect it? Could be the refresh rate is set too high for it in some default?

vga, its a vga monitor. could try a dvi adapter? its native res is 1280x1024.

Using the safe mode options you can change the resolution, before entering the OS.
