Signature Series 7900 gt anyone got one?

the Signature Series nvidia cards seem to have far higher clocks than normal , how do they achieve this? and are the cards worth the premium price? , the 7900gt Signature Series seems to run very fast how does its performace go in 3d mark 06 ?anyone got one?
 
Custom PC Magazine reviewed it last month, and they really rated it, achieving near X1900XT speeds for a similar amount of cash.

But, this begs the question, why wouldn't you just get the ATI card instead then?

I suppose reasons to consider would be that you can SLI the 7900GT signature series, (although you can crossfire the X1900 of course) and they have the 90 day 'step up' scheme which might be useful if you change cards a lot.

Something else to consider is the EVGA Signature Series warranty. I've read many instances of glowing reviews for this service on the web, and apparently you get your own customer support telephone number and super fast RMA.

Something you might need given the reliability of the 7900 core though! ;)
 
Hi there,

I bought one of these cards myself about 2 weeks ago. Admittedly, the first one I received from OCUK was faulty, but that’s where the signature series edition holds it own. The support i received was second to none. Once I had phoned the right number lol, they had a new one delivered to my door the very next day.

Also, the card runs/overclocks well, so far I managed to get the core to 650MHz and memory up to 1750Mhz, as yet, I haven’t tried much higher.

I’m very happy with it, and you get to use the step up option, so if a new card comes out within 3 months of purchase, you can upgrade to this and only pay the difference as Tooks ses :cool:
