after trying to silence my PC for a long time, starting off with a case, 120mm fans with rubber mounts, then a Big Typhoon cooler, then a zalman gfx card cooler and finally a Lian Li EX-23B HDD bay - which totally silenced my Raptor (this used to get very loud in the early hours of the morning when virus scanning etc).

so finally silence bliss....?

well yes, but now i can wake up in the morning switch my PC on.... but actually turn it off. now it's pretty much silent and cant hear it running :o Turned off the PC 3 times in the past week.

heh never thought i would have a whine about that  :o :D

Heh, that's pretty good. I have spent a lot of time (and money) trying to silence my computer, and whilst it's not perfectly silent it is no longer noticable when surfing the web or playing games. I love it :)

can no one else heard the eletrical whinne of computers/tvs/dvd player etc? It dont really bother me but i can always tell if sumthing is on or not, even if its on standby?

Did u find the rubber mounts for the fans worked or is it the same without?

I can always hear the whine too...to the point I have to turn everything off from the socket anyway to sleep, and when im up I usually have music on to drown anything else out...the only reason I want mine more quiet is for when im recording audio

I got to the point that the noisest thing in my PC was my FSP PSU, swapped the fan out for a Nexus, bliss. Until it tripped out after 5mins. Not detered swapped it out for a Papst fan, great works fine, until it would trip randomly during gaming.

So ended up with the stock fan. :( .

Need a watercooled SLI PSU.
