I woke up this morning to find that my lovely new 8800 GTS is a little noisy. Considering that I like to leave my sound card on over night, is there any hardware way of sliencing the card? I have had a look on Zalman's website but none of their coolers are compatible.

I'm also currently reading about Rivatuner..

mine used to make a hideous high pitch sound sometimes when entering 3d mode, but now i havent heard it for a couple of months, mayb it was some dust or something in the fan.

I agree they're quite noisy, people who say the stock coolers are "silent" must either have bad hearing/not care about noise or it be drowned out by other components. (I've had three, in three different computers so it wasn't faulty)

I have the HR-03 Plus + Noctua 120mm 800rpm (custom attached since it only officially supports 92mm) and it made a HUGE difference. Make sure you have lots of room though because it's massive.

No, they realy are silent, even on 100% mine doesnt make a lot of noise. Maybe some are better than others I suppose. BFG as well btw.

Got to agree here,i was amazed at how quiet mine was with the stock cooler.I even had second thoughts about sticking my EK block on it because it was so quiet. Of course its now its totally silent with the block on :D

Aye, I wasn't expecting much coming from a VF900 on lowest setting, but TBH I could swear the GTS is quieter.
