Silent Case fans needed...

My silenX 90CFM (bit overspecced tbh) 18dBa (bit overspecced but not by much tbh) dosen't perform far off from my YS TECH 105CFM fan with an Ultra 120, the silenx is way quieter though!

Im really impressed with my SE 2000, 120mm.

They are nice & quiet on a manual fan controller @ minimum, virtually inaudiable; and when I pick up the clocks/load & turn them up, you can tell they're moving some air, but its not an intrusive noise, especially with music or other similar noises going on.

I have a fan control so im hoping I can make the Sharkoon 2000's as quiet as the 1000's at 7v or something, but have the option to wind them up if I want.

I know Silenx are overpriced but I got mine from a bloke on ebay. He sells them at £5 a shot. They're very quiet and well worth in my opinion.

Nah, the CFM:Noise ratio still places them near the bottom of the ladder.

Whilst mine were fairly quiet, they were in no way 18db, and pushed a fair bit less than they supposedly do.

I've got Panaflos on 7v in my machine, non-ballbearing fans 4TW! :D

Yup, the Sharkoon 80mm/2000 is louder than the 120mm/1000.

80mm/1000 - very quiet, I use this cooling the hard disk

120mm/1000 - very quiet, I use this on an Ultra-120

80mm/2000 - Audible, I use these fans connected to the motherboards Q-Fan controller, either as Case/Intake fans 'or' as the CPu fan. Running at full whack you can hear these things so that why they work great with a fan-controller of some sort, totally quiet when system idle and audible when the system is under heavy load.

120mm/2000 - This is too loud for me, tried it for a few evenings but it drove me mad running at full whack and the ASUS/INTEL Q-Fan didn't slow it down?, will be installing it soon in an ASUS/nForce Q-Fan system as a cpu fan matched with an older XP-120, hopefully the nVidia chipset will be able to slow it down when the system is idle lol! :D
Thanks Wayne, I'm glad my 80mm Sharkoon SE 2000 fans aren't faulty :p

What model Panaflo's are they? Do they not make clicking noises at 7V? :o

Im very happy with my Sharkoons that arrived today, although at full speed they would be too loud, at 7 volts they are perfect. I think the 80mm is quiter than the 120's.

These are all 2000 btw.

Have you tried both 120mm and 80mm separately? :o
