Hi People

Can some of you please recomend some good silent 120mm case fans.
I would rather they were LED fans but it doesn't really matter.

Cheers ;)

I know Silenx are overpriced but I got mine from a bloke on ebay. He sells them at £5 a shot. They're very quiet and well worth in my opinion.

You wont be dissapointed, whisper silent and look the shizz :D
36.1 dB(a) isn't whisper silent :p

If you perform the 7V modification then I would definitely agree or unless you have the Silent Eagle 1000s which I would also agree too :p

Sharkoon 'Silent Eagle' 2000 series are not 'whisper quiet'. The 80mm versions do produce an audible 'whoosing' sound from the air they move and the 120mm even more so (the latter really moves allot of air!!).

Both the 2000 series fans are ideal if you have and are using the motherboards built in fan control (i.e Q-Fan etc). In my system the 80mm/2000's run on average at 1400rpm but if things warm up they speed up all the way to 2200rpm (thought they were 2000rpm max).

Always been a fan of the xilence fans, even if they are a bit on the expensive side.

Recently moved to sharkoon SE 1000's though, noise level is about the same, but i find the xilence fans seem to push a bit more air, the sharkoons though are definately the better buy though for the price... (look cooler too :D)

Wayne, do you happen to have both 120mm SE1000 and a 80mm SE2000 fans?

I'm just wondering if your fans are like mine as I described in this thread on silentpcreview.com forums :(

I'm just wondering
Yup, the Sharkoon 80mm/2000 is louder than the 120mm/1000.

80mm/1000 - very quiet, I use this cooling the hard disk

120mm/1000 - very quiet, I use this on an Ultra-120

80mm/2000 - Audible, I use these fans connected to the motherboards Q-Fan controller, either as Case/Intake fans 'or' as the CPu fan. Running at full whack you can hear these things so that why they work great with a fan-controller of some sort, totally quiet when system idle and audible when the system is under heavy load.

120mm/2000 - This is too loud for me, tried it for a few evenings but it drove me mad running at full whack and the ASUS/INTEL Q-Fan didn't slow it down?, will be installing it soon in an ASUS/nForce Q-Fan system as a cpu fan matched with an older XP-120, hopefully the nVidia chipset will be able to slow it down when the system is idle lol! :D
