Just got a pair of silent eagle 1000, a bit pricey at a tenner each but god there so queit, put em through my fan controller cant hear them at all even on max speed, worth the money my hard drives dont go above 26*and the general cooling seams to be better with my graphics card cooling @39* idle!

Quite fond of the silent eagles myself, have a few of the 2000 rpm versions run off a controller and 3 of the new modular se versions. They shift a lot of air at reasonable noise levels and they also look pretty good.

Whats the difference between the modular ones mate?
Im about to click order on the normal 2000's...

El jimben has posted a very good link (thanks mate:)) basically the normal silent eagle 2000's are 3 pin fans, theyre quite loud at full speed, put them on a fan controler and theyre great, the new se fans come with different voltage reduction cables that you can use when the fan is connected directly to the psu, they also have the option of using a 4 pin pwm connector should you choose to use one as a cpu cooling fan, i went with the pwm option, got 2 of them on a TRUE black cpu coler on my i7 920 at 4ghz, even at full speed of 1200 rpm theyre pretty quiet, i have 2 of the 3 pin 2000 rpm sharkys as case intakes ran of a fan controler, they normally run at 900 rpm or so, only whack em up when benching or testing overclocks.

Is it ESSENTIAL that I buy the PWM SE's over the normal Silent Eagles?
They're £2 extra.. seems good?
I need 2 x 2000's for my H50 Rad and then 3/4 1000's for case fans...
Sorry, I'm still a bit confused as to what ones I'd benefit from.

All hooked up to a Zalman MFC1 Plus controller... HELP? :D

No, definitely not essential. I only purchased them because of the ability to use pwm so that the cpu fan header on the motherboard can control them. As you have a very good zalman fan controler the standard 3 pin versions will be fine, id suggest 2 x 2000's on the H50 rad and for case fans the 1000's will be grand, the 1000's are nice and quiet but still shift a good amount of air, the 2000's are loud at full speed but as theyll be connected to the controler you can dial them down in normal use, only ramping them up when cpu temp stars to climb.

I've also got a Silent Eagle 2000 on my TRUE, it's a great fan. Seems OCuk have stopped selling them though, I wonder why.

I've got a couple of SE1000s as case fans and they're superb. Got them linked up to a cheapo fan controller to knock them down a few rpm and the sound drops right off, I can't hear them at all - they definitely shift some air though.
