Hi all.
I will shortly be putting together a HTPC in a Silverstone LC17 which seems to have two front 92mm mounts (intake), two rear 80mm mounts (out) and a side 80mm mount (probably good for a intake as it is next to the CPU).
I want to make it as quiet as I can get it, but making it actually silent I accept will be impossible without cooking the parts. But I want to try to get it silent enough that it isn't distracting when watching a DVD.
What is the general forum consensus on the best fan range to go for? The acostifans seem pricey and I'm sure there's a catch somewhere. Is it better to go for a temperature sensing fan, or one with a resistor to slow it down if I don't need it on full power?
Colour/LEDs etc are not an issue as it is a window-less case that will hopefully blend in with everything else in the living room.
