Well this has been announced as a PS3 Exclusive a HD Remake for the 2nd and 3rd Game... http://www.gametrailers.com/news/silent-hill-collection-exclusively/3485 Sounds good but i wonder what the deal is with the 1st game??? I remember it being on the US PSN Store and it took aaaaaggggeeeess to come to the UK one and then it was pulled with no reason. I know there was possible issues (That most people who has it discounted) but it has never resurfaced? I would have though that they were maybe doing a remake and thats why it was pulled but Konami are doing a "Collection" But without the 1st game???

Its a real pity as a Full on HD Remake would be fantastic..
 
I'm yet to play Silent Hill 3, Finished 1 and 2, Both with the best endings, took a few attempts though. So a HD version of 3 is good news for me. Dont think I'll play 2 again though, Finished it like 3 times only a few months ago.
 
Having never played the first or any of the others the other side of number 2 I can honestly say Silent Hill 2 was the best in the series :cool:
 
For some reason they are re-doing the voices. Won't make much difference to me as I can't remember the originals! :D
 
"Apparently" the reason why they are redoing the voice acting is that they guy who did it originally wants silly money to be paid in royalies so they have decided to redo the lot. How true it is i dont know as i would have thought that it would have cost a lot more to redo the lot than pay him.

I am still at a loss about SH1 tho... Its really odd but there isnt even a lot of info about it on the web..
 
Yeah think so..

Just has a thought... Maybe there was some horrible portal that opened up when some people played the original and the more people that played it the more evil came into our world so they pulled it.. :eek:
 
I've only played 4. I didn't finish it (for some reason) but loved it. Great atmosphere. Any idea why this isn't being released with it as well?

Anyway, I'll definitely be picking this up.

I'm pretty sure there were technically issues with the emulation in some models of PS3 (also applied to the disk version), so was either never fixed or Konami decided it wasn't worth their effort.

The reason it's not in the HD collection is fairly obvious - they would actually have to do some work. :p All these PS2 games that are being re-released in HD collections are fairly straight forward, all they need to do is increase the resolution, put some anti-aliasing on and maybe touch up some textures to bring it up to a reasonable standard. You can't really do that with a PS1 game.
 
Silent Hill 2 is easily one of my favorite games of all time. I'll defiantly be picking this up when it releases. Any word on when that will be?
 
I remember ****ing my panties on a number of occasions playing Silent Hill 1. Never did finish it, was quite hard/confusing! :(

Silent Hill 2 was immense though.

Silent Hill 3 I played for 5 mins and couldn't be arsed, seemed pretty rubbish.
 
I remember getting stuck on Silent Hill 2 at a bit with Boxed Juice in a lift or something :/

Cant remember if I ever made it past that point tbh
