Silent Hill: The Short Message is a new, short-form Silent Hill title, featuring a young, contemporary protagonist. In 2022, we announced a revival for the Silent Hill series, along with several new titles in development, and this marks the first of that new wave of games to be released. We’re excited to deliver today’s surprise release.

We’re releasing the whole game for free, so if you’ve never played a Silent Hill game before, we hope you’ll take this chance to get a taste of what Silent Hill is all about.

Following messages from her friend Maya, Anita finds herself at a crumbling apartment block, infamous for rumors of suicides.
Drawn inside, Anita soon finds her sense of reality shattered as she encounters bizarre, otherworldly spaces and twisted monsters.
Maya's message was clear — "can't leave til you find it" — but what is it that Anita is really looking for?

They've got a couple of Silent Hill projects running but, apart from SH2 Remake, there's absolute silence on that front so it's good to see something's happening.

How long is the short?

about 2 hours. Ive been playing it today, its okay, not particularly scary or anything and the story is ok, it feels a bit of a chore to finish it at this point.

Tried playing it but I lasted just 10mins. It feels so sluggish that its got to be running at 30fps - 'powered by the latest in game technology' - please. Walking from room to room...wat YEAR is it?!

I did all this back in 2005 on the 360 in Condemned.

It drags on a bit and despite the rewind mechanic, I don’t like the trial and error nature of the chases. Can’t see me finishing it

Same, it was so fresh and new at the time. I couldn’t get into the second one as it felt too supernatural as I recall so o never finished it.
