It was rare but possible...
The U-864 German sub was torpedoed whist submerged by H.M. Submarine Venturer off Helliso, 35 miles North-West of Bergen and lost with all 73 hands in 1945.

And given that the above mission was quite critical why have the developers not included it as part of the ww2 campaign ? (imo this is where SH4 modders come in, fixing and putting stuff in which should have been in the game already

But if your argument is: there was no sub v sub combat in ww2 so therefore its not in SH4 then answer me the following:
Why there are no AI wolfpacks? It was common in world war 2 for an enemy taskforce to be attacked by a group of submarines not just one.
So wheres the realism there then?
