I've currently got a Corsair AX850 in my PC which I've had for a while and works without issue, however when my GPUs start to near full utilisation the fan kicks in to it's fastest speed and it's excessively noisy (seems to be a common complaint with Corsair PSU fans - lot of results on Google).

Requirements:

Silent/near silent operation while running system in sig at full load.
Fully modular.
Some headroom for overclocking.

Unfortunately you wont ever find silent 1000W PSU you are look for.

I would suggest you to just stick with your AX850 PSU, it already has hybrid fan mode then hold on until manufacturers launch fanless 850W Titanium PSU. The maximum power fanless PSU I found right now on sale is 520W so it not quite here yet.

AX850 fan is as loud as SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W/1000W at 100% load accorded to reviews.

I was looked at Corsair AX1500i and SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1300W but their fans are much louder at 54-55db when at 100% load but not sure which reviews it come from.

Unfortunately, it looks like you are right. I considered getting a slighter higher wattage than required model too but that simply increased the noise further as the output level increases.

The good thing is that if I'm just browsing the web I can tune the fan/pump speeds to be near silent and the noise in games can be quite easily drowned out by my 5.1 (which my wife loves too).
