Hi folks,

I've recently aquired a free Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ and am looking at upgrading my current PC to incorporate this CPU. However I am unsure if my current PSU would be capable of running the additional hardware that I would like to buy (unfortunatly i can't really afford to buy a new case and psu, but would like to know in advance if my hardware choices are likely to be ok or not)

Silentium T1 with Seasonic 450 Watt max. / 350 Watt continuous PSU
Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+
Abit AN8-32X nForce 4 SLi
Gainward Golden Sample 7900GT 512mb
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
2GB Ram
2 x 200gb SATA Hdd's
NEC ND4570 Dual Layer DVD RW

Is the PSU going to be able to handle this kit?

Any help or advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply

Unfortunatly the PSU in the Silentium cases are not standard ATX PSU's so I would have to buy a new case and PSU. I do plan on upgrading both in the near future as I want to go SLi and i'm certain that the seasonic psu won't handle that. I was just curious if i could get away with running on my existing psu for the time being. :)

You could get away with it, but I do not think there is enough juice left in the PSU to run much more off it once the upgrade is done.

It would have to be the next upgrade you do, regardless really as that is what I would personally consider the safe limit for that PSU.

Yup. money spent in a much better way.

SLI is onyl ever worth it if you buy both cards at the same time, otherwise by the time you get round to it, one card is faster.
