Silly Canon 350D question

Hey Guys I'm at work at the moment, playing around with my 350D, and one thing I don't remember happening is now starting to bug me. Whenver I turn the camera on now, the orange backlight to the LCD Info screen turns on, and stays on for about 4 seconds. Then once it turns off, if I press the backlight/printshare button, it doesn't control the backlight. I press it, and the light doesn't turn on. Now I'm sure it used to turn the light on and off, but now it only goes on whenever the camera is turned on. Its not a big deal, but I'm planning to go out in my break, and take some shots, thats all. Cheers

Mine is controlled by the backlight button, and certainly doesn't come on when the camera starts up. Does kinda sound like a small bug there!
