Silly Fan Orientation Question

Ok I have a Lian Li PC-7 case, with a bs-02 fan. Because of the huge heatsink on my hd2900xt I had to take it apart to get it to fit. Now I've got a hd 4870 and I'm putting it back together as it fits again.

But it appears the orientation of the bs-02 is wrong. It's supposed to be an intake but it appears to be an outty.

General rule of thumb, sticker side = air in your face side. so why does the bs-02 look like this?

It wouldn't be a problem, I could just simply flip the fan around... except the fan has special holes for the thumb screws on one side.

It should look like this

But the fan is definately orientated wrong. I tried flipping the whole thing, it just about fits but the metal octagon is just touching the top of the hd4870 which is slightly annoying. Plus the fan doesn't have a funnel of air anymore as there is about an inch between the fan and the case sidepanel.

Maybe because you're looking it from direction where it blows?

Having intake in side near back does more for messing airflow through case than increasing it.

Yeah, right...
Exhaust on bottom, nothing but intake on top.
