silly n00b question

hello all,

i've got a silly question to ask.

with in the next week or two i will be water cooling my system, i've started to prep and make sure it all looks good and i've got everything and i know what i am doing but i've come to a little problem, where my reservoirs (Dual 5.25" Reservoir) will be sitting it will be in the way of my graphic card... now this is the silly question, i have another PCI-e slot on my mobo can i just put it in there & when i start up will have to install the drivers? or not?.

Your two PCi-E lanes run a t difference speeds, the one that will be blocked will be PCi-E 16x, and the one you're thinking of moving it into is PCI-E 8x.

You could indeed move it into the lower slot, but you would loose some performance (perhaps up to 5%).

No other place of putting the res?

No there is no room for it, the only way for me tondo is buy another res.

I can't as I will be putting the pump there but I wouldn't been able to any way as it not big enough for it.. I mite have to buy a new pump now.

i've just look in my mobo manual and it says "that both pci-e slots are 16x" and also on that link it say "2 PCI Express gen2 x16 slots" or am i reading that wrong?..

I was reading it as in Crossfire will run at 8x/8x

Yeah, it should still run at 16x
