Silly problem with mouse

A silly little problem really.

I ran Ad-Aware last night and i've just realised that i can no longer use the scroll wheel on my PS/2 mouse. when i scroll down it scrolls down for the first notch but then up on the second notch Ad infinitum.

I have tried reinstalling the drivers as i guessed Ad-Aware must have deleted something?? didnt work.

I have also just found out that i didnt have system restore turned on. so i can't run one of those either.

does anyone have a solution for this?

I've had that problem before, scrollwheel was broken/worn out. Try another mouse, or the current mouse on another PC (a friends PC if you don't have a spare) to be sure.

I see this everyday, especially in college. As DR said, try the process of elimination to find the problem, if it's the mouse and it's a good one, try and send it back if you can, if it's the PC, post back

ah ok then, I guess i was just jumping to conclusions with the AD-Aware thing

its not a good mouse. i'll try it in another PC and if that doesnt work i'll get another. i'll post back to let you know if you were right.
