Silly query about mapped printers

Right, this has bugged me for so long I thought I would make a post about it. It's purely cosmetic so not at all important but I am curious. I have a bunch of printers installed on a print server and shared. The shares are as follows:

\\SERVERNAME\PRINTER1
\\SERVERNAME\PRINTER2
\\SERVERNAME\PRINTER3

So in my logon script I map these printers the same as above. Why oh why does windows not keep the case uniform? I end up with something like:

printer1 on SERVERNAME
PRINTER2 on servername
PRINTER 2 on SERVERNAME

Can I do anything to ensure the mappings are all in upper case or vice versa?

I believe Windows will take the case of the share of the printer on the server.

So check the case of the shares on the server.

The case on the share is all uppercase. If I navigate to \\servername all the shares show as lowercase even though in the printer properties the share tab shows the sharename in uppercase. Bizarre.
