Silly question, mirror thread size?

Just bought some cheap mirrors to replace my end bar ones but the thread size is too small

I assumed they were all same size lol, the ones I have are 7.4MM and the threaded hole on my bike reading 8.2mm.

Can I buy adapters or should I just get 8.2mm ones instead?
My bike is an ER-5 97.

Get the right size. That looks like M8 to me.
