silly question re x99

hi guys got an gigabyte x99 gaming 5p in a bundle i got from ocuk , now i have sli im seeing the odd lock up issue on games i read in the manual that there is a molex on the board to provide more power to pci -e could this be my issue before i start hacking at my case to get access to this socket

Don't quote me but I suspect the extra voltage via the Molex is more useful for extreme cooling solutions that really push the power draw through the PCI-E slots rather than normal AIR/Water cooled SLI installs.

ahh ok ill put cpu to stock and see if i have any issues then funny thing is i can alt tab and task manager around stuff mouse disappears until i close the game

Are you running the custom BIOS that 8pack posted on the thread? I had 2 boards fail before the 3rd plus that BIOS update have been 100% reliable. So good in fact I bought another 2nd hand 5P and flashed that BIOS and that's also been 100% reliable but I haven't used SLI on either.

its an ocuk bundle buddy so believe its just running standard

The BIOS on that thread was F22c but it's not readily available but a quick search found several newer on the thread below for example.
