Hey guys, I hope you are all well!

I have a bit of a silly question (Some of you might think so anyway). I'm struggling to understand how a motherboard takes RAM. For example, I am looking at buying the ROG Hero http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-563-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2574. I have a few questions so I'll list them :)

1. I just want confirmation that the Haswell Motherboards (Z87) can only support dual channel RAM.

2. If I was to buy 2400MHZ RAM (Avexir for example) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-002-AR&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387, would it fit straight into my board? What would I need to do in order to get it to work as I can see on the motherboard specs on the OCUK page, it shows O.C next to certain MHZ's which I believe means, "Can overclock to".

3. What does the O.C stand for in the MOBO Specs?

4. Is the listed MHZ for the RAM (In this case 2400MHZ) it's MAXIMUM speed? or is this it's stock speed which it's already set to?

5. Although this particular motherboard cannot take Quad channel RAM, is it able to take 2x Dual Channel RAM sticks if I needed 16gb for example, use 2x 2x4gb DUAL channel RAM sticks as per the link above?

Please help me guys! I'm trying to get my head around this as it's frying my own head's CPU :D

1. I just want confirmation that the Haswell Motherboards (Z87) can only support dual channel RAM. Yes Z87 motherboards support a maximum of dual channel ram, they also support single channel ram.

Yes it will fit straight into the board. The timmings set in the ram are for 9-9-9-24 at 1333MHz but it has been tested upto 2400Mhz. all you should need to do is plug it in and it should work, unless there is something about the voltage required that stops it being listed as being Haswell compatible. (someone else will hopefully clarify this)

3. What does the O.C stand for in the MOBO Specs? I believe that the Z87 chipset only officially supports 1333 and 1600MHz ram, but faster ram will work hence the O.C (overclock) in the description.

4. Is the listed MHZ for the RAM (In this case 2400MHZ) it's MAXIMUM speed? or is this it's stock speed which it's already set to? I believe it is the speed to which it has been tested too, it may go higher. the stock speed is 1333 as listed.

5. Although this particular motherboard cannot take Quad channel RAM, is it able to take 2x Dual Channel RAM sticks if I needed 16gb for example, use 2x 2x4gb DUAL channel RAM sticks as per the link above? Yes it can take more than two sticks of ram but it will only work in a maximum of dual channel mode. ie: 2x4 and 2x4 or 2x8 and 2x8, it would even take 2x4 and 2x8.

Please help me guys! I'm trying to get my head around this as it's frying my own head's CPU :D
