Silly question

I want to get a laptop for just general use at work and home.

No games and no major programs will be run on it.

I was thinking of getting a web book?

Are these a bad idea or are they good.

Id want it for surfing the web, watching movies (not dvd's ripped films)

word,excel and thats it

Should i get a proper laptop or would a web book do??
