I'm thinking about joining the Gym but I was wondering, I was going to do some weight lifting first then do some cardio, Is it better to go onto the cardio machines, such as the treadmill or go for a swim after the weights.

Thanks
Chris

What do you recommend?

Should I do weight lifting for a few months, then when i've gained the muscle I want then do some cardio?

I'm going to my work now, Won't be able to reply till about midnight.

Thanks for all the help guys, I think I now know the basics for what to do to achieve what I need.

If I need any more help you'll be the first people I come to.

I've been going to the gym everyday since friday, Just need to make sure I'm doing things right.

When I go in I do about 15 minutes of cardio to warm myself up, then I work my way around the various machines from the bench press to the leg extensions, I try to do a full body work out to use every muscle group each time.

I do 3x8 on each machine at the maximum weight that I can life 8 times in a row, I have been doing this everyday, I also changed my diet to eat more often and food that has got protein in it.

Am I doing it right? Or is there something I should change?

p.s. My shoulders and the muscles leading from my shoulders to my pecks hurt like hell.

Hello again, I don't want to open another thread so I'll just post here.

How do you gain a six pack, There is a machine in the gym that says it works on your abs, does it actually work?

Also, crunches, When is the best time to do them, some in the morning when you get up, or before you go to sleep?

last but not least, I seen in Argos these Electric belts that you attach pads to areas around your abs and it sends electrical shocks into your abs to strengthen them, Do they actually work?

Thanks
Chris
