I'm house sitting at my mum's, so have dusted off my xbox and brought it down with Dirt (original), Fable 3 and Fallout NV to kill time. Now, I've discovered two issues I'm not sure how to solve on a console:
a) Lighting seems to be pants on all three titles despite the limited gamma settings, all are too dark to see (Fallout NV seems to be the worst for this).
b) loading times are horrendous, as are framerates.

so:
a)what setting do I need to play with on my TV to sort out the brightness issue (currently on a 42" panasonic plasma)
b)can I save the game to my HDD to reduce loading times or increase fps?

I can't speak for Fable/Dirt, but Fallout NV is a very dark game, and has an appalling framerate generally.

If your Panasonic is like mine, I would go to the settings and put it on Game mode.

You can install your Xbox games to the HDD. When in the dashboard, on the screen/tile that you use to 'play game', press Y (I think), there will be an option to allow you to install (space permitting).
