Some of us have been upgrading or tweaking our beloved pc's for years, others a few months.

Mine was one of my first builds, i'd just bought myself an awesome 486 dx25 and a kick ass board to go with it, this was to replace my 386/16 philips (that had the most amazing bios i've ever seen you could literally change everything and destroy your board with one click).

So I get this board home and it won't fit into the desk top case, not only that but I realised i'd forgotten to buy the heatsink, this was my first cpu that required one.

Solution:
Remove top of case, ledge board at an angle on said top (covering any metal contacts between case and board with masking tape), plug in all connectors and boards, a small dab of superglue to hold the board in place, and a large flat head screw driver resting on the cpu to act as a heatsink, a little bit of masking tape to make it secure.
I kept that build as is for about 6 months.

Nice One.....lol :)

I remember having a Pentium 266 and the case cracked all the way down the middle so I took the top off, removed one of my drawers from my bedside cabinet, used a manual drill and made holes all over it.

I then placed it over the open case and used stickyback tape to stop it from sliding one side to the other :)

Lasted me 18 months and I even made an online girlfriend through it...;)
