Silver conducts heat 7.7% better then copper and 90% then aluminum

Those I realise most will say it doesnt matter that much, all the same does anyone know of a recent heatsink made in Silver. Price is currently about 12gbp an ounce

There is a water block, the Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos XT .925 Silver Edition. Yours for £180

That figures it'd be water based, premium. I'd be happy with just a block of silver and some fins, if the price of silver did rise it'd potentially pay for itself in time

There was an air based one made in 2002. If people had just kept that in the cupboard after changing from socket A they'd have got their money back by now

I believe silver is about 4 times as dense as aluminum, so if you made a heatsink like a TRUE out of silver entirely it would weigh around 3kg (no doubt it would perform better, but it would put massive strain on the board and could most likely only be mounted with the motherboard laying flat).

As for the price, 3kg of silver will cost around £1200 assuming the silver price is $18/ounce.

It does indeed seem like the price of silver is going up - so buying some as an investment makes sense, but I probably wouldn't want to put it in my computer tbh.
