Logged in to the SkyGo homepage today after a fair few months.

Was prompted to install the Silverlight 5 update. Followed the link & installed Silverlight 5.

Since then no Silverlight content including the SkyGo content is playing.

SkyGo site displays a white box where the silverlight content should be

Bing Videos displays a black box where the silverlight content should be.

As soon as I revert to Silverlight 4, all besides the SkyGo content starts to work.

(SkyGo is simply forcing me to update Sliverlight)

I'm on Window 7 64-bit.

Any ideas?

i don't have sky go but i do have silverlight 5 installed and bing videos work fine. (windows 7 64bit, obviously)

Silverlight is crap. Gpu acceleration doesn't work, it turns to a slid show if you get a uac prompt, get's few updates (5 has been out since Christmas) and they take months to even tell you. However seeing as there aren't any silverlight download tools (like flash) everyone is using it. As soon as one of those appears we'' be forced onto something else.

I honestly never thought I'd see the day where I wanted to have flash back. At least it works and is getting regular (automatic) updates.

After 2 hours of trying to upgrade SL from v4 to v5 I came across an .exe that didn't fail during installation (no extract or wrong OS version error). The .exe from MS site did not work, and why would it as it's only a MS product. Anyway if anyone here is also having issues installing SL v5 (I'm on Vista 64bit) then try getting this version from download.com. Finally I've sorted this in time for the Masters :)

Finally fixed my issue

the problem was SilverLight 5 and..... wait for it...... fonts with an ampersand "&" in the name (e.g. K&N font).

I searched for fonts with an ampersand in their nam, found 5 and deleted them.

Worked a charm!!! Sounds wired but believe me... it works.
