Welcome to the annual Silverpaw Prediction League for the 2019/20 season.

The purpose of the competition is to predict the results, including the scores, of all Premier League matches. Any forum member can compete. No registration is necessary; members can predict as often or as infrequently as they like, though regular prediction is more likely to result in higher scores. You can also join in at any time during the season.

Scoring is simply three points for an all correct prediction of a match's scoreline, and one point for a correct result but incorrect score.

A separate thread will be started for each week of the competition, and predictions should be made in that thread. The thread will cover weekend games (generally Saturday to Monday) and any games scheduled for the following midweek, in line with the 'rounds' laid out by the Premier League website. For any match, a prediction will be valid if the time stamp of the post is earlier (even by one minute) than the scheduled kick-off time.

Beware of editing your posts, as an entire post will be assumed to have the time of the last edit. If you wish to change predictions for later matches after the first match has kicked off, the safe way to do this is to make a separate post. Results and cumulative tables will be included in the appropriate prediction thread.

Here are the first games of the new season to predict:

Liverpool - Norwich
West Ham - Man City
Bournemouth - Sheffield Utd
Burnley - Southampton
Crystal Palace - Everton
Watford - Brighton
Tottenham - Aston Villa
Leicester - Wolves
Newcastle - Arsenal
Man Utd - Chelsea

The first game kicks off at 20:00 on Friday, so get your predictions in by then for them all to count! Please copy and paste the predictions above into your post, and type your predictions around the "-". As above, if you miss this deadline you can still post with predictions for the games that haven't kicked off but make sure you completely remove the missed games from your predictions.

*Please make sure your predictions are in the correct format and you do not add any comments or smilies to your post as it's a pain in the arse to do the results. Predictions in the incorrect format or with anything added to them may not be included.

I'm more than happy to do the results again this year but I'd really appreciate it if somebody could be on hand to start the weekly threads just in case I forget.

Round 1 results:

We start the season with a low scoring round with no players making it into double figures and just a handful picking up a single scoreline. None the less it's @gilchrd that leads the way with 9 points thanks to 1 scoreline and a further 6 outcomes, a point ahead of mysticsniper in 2nd, a point ahead of a cluster of players tied in 3rd.
