Well, I think this counts as a foul-up! Had no idea that the next gameweek was midweek

At the start of the season, I said I'd like to predict for every game, so I'm starting this thread with a proposal. There are 2 games on Tuesday night and 8 games on Wednesday night.

I propose that we predict as normal for the Wednesday games, but that the Tuesday games will not count unless more than half of our usual players (we usually get around 40 each gameweek) manage to predict for them.

Would appreciate people's thoughts on the above along with their predictions! With that said, here are the fixtures. New players please see here for the rules.

As for the OP, I'd say the majority of people that post here take a further interest in football either by supporting their club, playing fantasy football or betting (or all three and more!). To that end I'd imagine most people know the next GW is mid-week and I think all predictions should be counted regardless of the number of entries. If you miss it then that's just bad luck, like missing the first round of the last man standing or any other GW.

My recommendation is to allow all valid predictions, regardless of how many have been made. I'm in total agreement with Russington about the interest the particpating players here generally have in football. Indeed, I only checked this forum today as I knew there were games to be played this evening.

I know that the rules say that midweek matches will be included in the same thread as the previous weekend's games, and also that that is how we did it last season when we first introduced midweek games to this competition. However, my own preference would have been to do it as has happened this week, i.e. full (or nearly full) midweek programmes having a separate thread of their own. However, when proposing the introduction of midweek matches at the beginning of last season, an overwhelming majority of responses persuaded me to limit it to just one thread per week, regardless of the number of matches.

In summary, I've no problems at all in this being a separate thread from last weekend, and indeed welcome it. :)

Thanks for your thoughts, Russinating and H. It's not often that there's a full (planned) midweek gameweek; most often, the midweek games will be tagged onto the previous weekend's fixtures. My concern was that I'd not noticed far enough in advance to give everyone a chance to predict, but threads will be started further in advance from now on.

The first game tonight kicks off at 19:45, so predictions in by then for them all to count
