Hey guys, on saterday me and my old man went to silverstone to see the new 'Wing' and the FIA GT1 World Championship ect and what other changes have the BRDC Made.
Ok here is a list of tips for the day.
there is now a new Bus every 10 mins which takes you round the track insted of walking (good news for the older gentlemen)
here is the bus root on the track, its very good for spectators since you can see clearly over the top of the fence's ect, also you get very close to the action down between maggots and the arena section then after a quick stop at the new wing the buss heads over the hanger straight, you get a realy realy good view of the cars flying passed you at 180mph also. clear shot very good for the video/photographers ect. the buss takes 10mins to get round the route, and there for saves you a lot of energy becuase you don't have to walk 5miles between the supercar car-park and the pit grandstands sorry about the image beeing cut abit, the blue is the buss route. just noticed iv spelt route wrong on the map lol my bad
Iv yet to go into the new wing, but inside i know there is a restrant/cafe and a small collection of old bikes and racing cars such as buttons 2009 world championship winning f1 car, along with Hamiltons 2008 car.
the good places for spectors are at the following.
Vale, or the piece of grass infront the the vale grandstand which you get very close to the cars.
The Insternational Pit straight grandstand, dosn't matter where in the grandstand becuase you get a good view of the new pit complex and thanks to the piece of grass between the garage's and the fence/pit wall you can see into the garages.
Club corners is also very good for pictures.
Not sure about Abbey since you had to have a 'speciel' ticket to get in even though there wasn't but hey.
Luffield A has now gone how ever the BRDC has moved Luffield B to a slightly wider angle so you can see more of the track, again good for spectators and photos.
the old pit straight grandstand is ok for photos.
Village A and B is ok, but not much speed there and your quite far away from the cars, not bad spot for photo's though.
So my tip for the grand prix, get tickets for the international pit straight and see if you can get the seat nearest to the club grand stand becuase you can see over the fence into the pits also you can see up round club, vale also the top of stowe.
here is my video from the end of the International pit straight grandstand.
Ok this video is a panning of the new 'wing'
