so the plan was to get a lain li v1000z and then figure out how to cram watercooling inside it
johnnylaris posted a brilliant - detailed thread on the build of the lian li
it looks great with his system in and secured my thoughts

now silverstone have got the SilverStone FT-01 [more specifically the ft01-bw, as i prefer the all black interior]

and i cant decide
it looks great - has much better potential for interior watercooling

in short - they both tick all the boxes
  • looks
  • build quality
  • aluminium
  • well laid out
  • innovative features
  • similar prices

only problem is i cant find anything about either case being watercooled

i think if i put the hdds in the drive bays then i could put a 240 rad in the space where they go

if i could see the pair side by side i could make an informed decision

anyone help?
what you prefer

anyone got one of the silverstones?
watercooling suggestions for the each?

Ive built in both makes of cases and would definetly go with the silverstone as found Lain li is hit and miss on build quality, had to many with rattling panels for my liking.

really?
interesting
is the build quality of the silverstone better then?
i have spoken to a guy who has one on xtreme systems and he is emailing me dimentions of certain areas of the case to find out if it would be suitable

i am leaning towards the silverstone more and more at the moment

i tend to keep my cases for a very long time so its the one thing i consider most

i noticed johnnylaris' lain li v1000z is going under water soon - but he is using a triple rad on the roof of the case

i would want it internal - but i want that to be in a smaller case

I don't like the silverstones hdd cages surely not much air is getting through that.

i know - they would be coming if i get one and a 240 rad being put there
[if it fits - waiting for confirmation on dimentions]

i know this would be a way easier decision if i could see both cases next to eachother

i know - i read that
they said it was ok

looks wise i prefer it
and custom pc's december issue does a heat test on a few cases

the silverstone comes out very highly

i think we have a winner
just how i planned my watercooling

obviously mine will be a lot neater
