Hey there guys, I have recently been looking into a new case for my setup and came across the silverstone series. The 90 degree rotated mounting of the Raven/Fortress cases has tempted me but i am not sure on their watercooling potential.

Could someone give me some advice on what the best options are.

Many thanks

Great cases (I have an FT02), but they're really designed with air cooling in mind, hence the rotated mobo. Having said that, I've seen people put a triple 180 rad in the bottom of their FT02/Raven although obviously there aren't many rads of that size on the market.

So yeah, designed for air cooling, but can be successfully used to water cool. If it were me though, and I was looking for a new case and knew I'd definitely be WCing, I'd look elsewhere. They're great cases, but you'll have more flexibility and upgrade potential with a case made specifically with water cooling in mind.

My 2c.

THanks for your reply. You mean more like the TJ11. Obviously its pricey but i do have a £750 budget which still leaves a little room for some improvements

TJ11 is better suited to water cooling, sure. But personally I don't think it has enough flexibility to warrant the high price. Will you be WCing GPUs? If so, the rotated motherboard wouldn't have any benefit for you so you might as well look at other options. Corsair 750D (or 900D if you really need the space) or Corsair Air 540 are hugely popular for WCing set ups. Have a look at some of the NZXTs too, although my own personal opinion is that the Phanteks Enthoo Primo is the best mainstream* tower case for WCing on the market right now.

*excluding expensive specialised manufacturers like Caselabs etc etc.
