Silverstone Case

Out of the 2, which would you say is the better:

Silverstone SG-01

Silverstone SUGO SST-SG03-S

Any advice would be great

After 6 Months of Waiting finally out, will get mine this wednesday, went for the silver one., plan to build a quiet gaming machine...

Silverstone SG03 S
Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H
Enermax Liberty 500W, modded with Nexus 120MM Fan
Core2Duo E6600
Silverstone NT06 Lite
4* 1GB DDR2667
2* Seagate 120GB 7200.2 in RAID0
2* Scythe Quiet Drive SDQ2500
2* Nocuta 120mm Running at 7.5V
Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB fitted with Arctic Cooling Accelero S1
Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
Pioneer 109XLS "Silver Limited Edition Aluminium Face"
Silver Floppy/Card Reader

Only fans in the system are the two Noctua's which which are dead silent, and the Nexus PSU fan which is the loudest part of the system, but can't risk using a Noctua for the PSU Fan as it won't shift as much air as the Nexus, the Nexus has been used quite well for the Passive NT06 Combination by a few people, so should be fine.., the Scythe Quiet Drives, should eliminate the motor noise form the laptop drive, so the faint noise of hard drive seek should be all the noise that will be heard from the HD's..

Graphics card is fanless, and with a 120MM fan blowing directly in front of it, and the rear air vents at the back of the case, should be a well cooled system..

Looks like a good system there mate. Looking at the SST-SGO3S Myself. Just got to make sure it runs cool and Quiet. I may just get a 939 mobo and a new heatsink for now to put in it until i can save up for a newer system!

Have you thought about using the Zalman low profile heatsink / fan?

I was also thinking of going SATA for my Hard Drive and DVDrw to save on cable space.

Keep us posted as to how you get on, with pics if possible.

Thing is, there's no real air "flow" in the SG01e. It's got a couple of fans but they don't really push air through the case like the SG03 does.

The SG03 can take a pair of 120mm fans which push air right through the middle of the case, I think it's going to cool a system far better than the SG01e could.

Well, i looked at the measurements of both the Silverstone Tech cases and the SG01 is quite large for a small case. It is wide and quite tall. Much bigger than a Shuttle.

The SG03 is again tall but not as deep so it end up being further back on the desk. I am very tempted by the SG03. I have my Coolermaster ATC201 on the desk at the mo and it is very tall and overpowering. I need a change, case wise. The SG03 looks like a strong contender. I want to keep my PC on the desk. I may sell my 201 but not sure if that is a good idea. I have had it years and it is an awesome case!

I like the small cases these days. It is all down to cooling / noise for me.

If anyone has pics of thier setups then put them on here for us to look at please. Ta

I was just wondering im probally gona go for the sg-01 as i like my pc to be near the screen but not drawfing it.

This is what i think too. I may go for the SG01 now. It is lower, i know it is wider but i think i would prefer a lower case rather than a taller one next to my TFT Not a big desk.

As for cooling, i won't be using a Graphics card (Onboard). Hopefully it will be ok to keep cool. I will put an NT06 in it with my PSU sucking the hot air away from the CPU. Have heard that this is a great combination.

Will decide this weekend.
