Silverstone confirmed their nylon dust filter mesh size, and I still have some questions

I was looking up the best budget dust filter to use, and I came across 2 threads on hardform and here.

The common recommendations I saw was Silverstone and Demciflex. Demciflex said their filters were medical grade synthetic 100 micron filters.

A fellow here went to ebay and bought some nylon filter of the same size, but said the holes were way too small. He didn't mention how it performed

So if 100 microns was too small, what's the right size?

Silverstone uses nylon filters but their website doesn't say the mesh size. So I contacted them and they got back to me with a mesh size of 258 microns. It's 2.5 times bigger than Demciflex's mesh. They also included some test results about filtration efficiency and drop pressure, which I couldn't make sense of it. Showing me data that says it's only 5% effective at blocking something is very strange, are they trying to talk me out of buying their filters?
And what is the effect of air pressure drop on the air flow? 0.4 mmH2O is 4 Pascals

Those who have used Silverstone filters, are these good at blocking dust without impeding airflow too much?

Fine dust seems to be much smaller than 250 microns though, they are said to be between 10 and 100 microns

Catching 5% of .26 micron salt particles in a 250 micron filter isn’t bad. But it’s only a standardised test.

I wouldnt get too scientific with it. Dust varies a lot. Some is fluffy. Some is more particulate like. Some is pet hairs etc.

The “filters” in modern mesh cases have holes that are 1-2mm. The additional filters you mention above will offer improved filtering. The more restrictive they are, they better the filtering will be.

just thinking outside the box a little bit, if dust is a big problem/concern then perhaps tackle elsewhere and get an air purifier and filter for the room. Rather than let the pc be the room filter.

Filtration gets quite complex and well beyond the scope of my knowledge - things like diffusion effect can significantly reduce how much can actually get through despite the difference between hole and particle size, some types of particle will only be in small quantities individually while mostly clumps up with each other or other particles for various reasons (electrostatic, ionisation and so on), etc. etc.

I replaced the Silverstone filter on my Primera 02 with a Demciflex one.
For me it was less about the mesh size and more about the Silverstone one having plastic supporting strips blocking a non-insignificant amount of the area of the filter.
The Demciflex builds up visible amounts of dust in maybe about 2 days and significant amounts in maybe 4 days.
I think it does a good job at stopping dust bunnies and the kind of dust that would otherwise clog up my tower cooler and graphics card, but there is still a fine coating of dust over the fans and flat surfaces in the case so it's not a perfect solution from an aesthetics perspective.
There are even some larger particles on the floor of the case but they likely got in through imperfects seals in the case such as the gap between the glass side panel and the main case body.

How is the temperature/airflow difference after you switched from Silverstone to Demciflex?
