Well can't afford to go on race day this year but want to see some F1 cars so thinking of going on Friday. The megabus won't get me there until 10 though what will the grandstands be like at this time?

not full. it's no where near as busy on a friday as it is on a saturday and sunday. pick whichever grandstand you want... though i dont think all are open to GA tickets (such as the pit straights).

Friday allows people to go pretty much anywhere round the outside except for a couple of corporate stands. You'll find people move around a lot so there are always places to sit (unless it rains and then the covered ones fill up instantly!!). The crowd is only about 60-70% of race day so there's no problem getting there at 10 and spending the rest of the day going around.

According to the F1 site, the sessions start at 10am and 2pm for 90mins each. They've moved the first one back a little as it was about 9am last year I think. The first 30 mins of the first session is usually fairly quiet though, just installation laps.

Plenty of empty open spaces on a Friday, most people move about anyway so even if a nice stand is filled for FP1 you will get into it for FP2 if you are early enough.

The grandstands will be busy, but not full, and you will have access to all but the private ones.

Its great to get your F1 fix. The only reason I'm not going again this year is I'm out of the country.

No epic breakfast bap for you this year :p

Probably going to do same thing as last year - luffield for one session and arena for the other.
