Hi guys,

I'm getting an FT-02 and the Corsair AX850 power supply.

I was just wondering if the supplied cables will be long enough to run behind the motherboard? Mainly I was concerned about the SATA power cables reaching the HDDs and optical drives as it is a relatively long case.

I will be running 2 HDDs and an SSD which will be mounted on the bracket along with 2 optical drives. I will also be running 2 6950s in xfire and would like the PCI-E and motherboard connectors to run behind the motherboard panel too.

I dont want everything to turn up and then realise I need more cables but equally I don't want to buy anything I don't need as will be spending enough already!

Any feedback, as always, will be greatly appreciated.

Your in luck mate I have that case and power supply. 24 pin, 8 pin motherboard connections fit no problem. All 4 pcie cables can reach GPUs with room to spare.

I only used one molex line coming from the power supply so i have a NZXT sata cable coming off a molex connection and going to the Blu Ray drive http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-004-NX

If you used the sata power cable from the PSU you can reach the Hard drives with out extensions/adapters.

I also used 2 extensions for the fans so they could reach my fan controller but this is entirely optional and you wouldn't need them if you are just using the controller on the top of the case.

Also the sata data cables will reach the board no problem

That's great, thansk for the info and photo!

I noticed on another forum that someone mentioned that the AX850 doesn't quite cover the rear exhaust. Pic Here.

They said people shoud the remaining exhaust holes with gaffa tape to keep the positive pressure. Is that right?

Edit: I was also considering getting a fan controller too. Do you run all your fans off it?

That pic is missing the fan filter and cover so it doesnt have quite a big a gap as that.
I dont have anything to test the rate of airflow in and out but just from feeling the amount of air that escapes through that gap with my hand it seems minimal at best.
I really cant see how such a small gap would stop the case having positive pressure or having any effect on temps but maybe they carried out tests in that forum? Simple fix anyway if your bothered by it.

I use something like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-220-LL&tool=3

I dont like the look of front panel controllers personally but each to their own.

They didn't carry out any tests, it was really just opinion based and I agree, I don't think it can make a lot of difference so probably not worth bothering with.

I will probably get a fan controller and just run the case fans from it and let the motherboard take care of the cpu fans. What RPM do you run yours at, is it much lower than the case controller settings? .

I just run the case fans from my fan controller and let the mobo take care of the cpu fans/ rear fan.

I only put in the fan controller as i wanted a speed in between the high and low settings that the case offers. This was purely for noise reasons as i find the high setting a bit loud when its right beside me.

Couldn't tell you what RPM their at but its about 20% less than the stock high setting.

was thinking of getting thid case with that same mobo, semtax, might now now. Seems the rear cpu opening is duff.

Yeah that opening seems to be in the wrong place for quite a few motherboards. My last EVGA motherboard seemed to fit that hole fine though

Aluminium casing perhaps......otherwise don't know

Think your probably right. The price is down to using aluminium instead of plastic as far as i can see. Insides seem to be very close to the new Raven 2 Evolution.

Could be worse though http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-072-SV&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=1092
