Silverstone FT02 Cable Management

Good evening everyone.

On Friday I got a Silverstone FT01 case, but it's a bit too small. My main gripe is with the clearance behind the motherboard - it isn't even sufficient for a small number of cables (I'm using a fully modular Silverstone PSU). Right angled motherboard connectors are also posing a problem. Thirdly, the non-removable removable dust filter is just stupid. I haven't done a proper build in over 3 years so I'm a bit rusty - probably the reason I didn't spot these pitfalls beforehand.

So I really want to know if the FT02 has addressed these issues. Primarily, how much clearance do you get behind the motherboard?

Thanks in advance,

Ben.

I have an ft01 and my cables fit you just have to push the door a bit the ft02 is the same space really even has the same doors as the ft01.
If you want a case with much more room at the back look at the raven 3 or some of the corsair cases or haf x.

You can route cables behind on the ft01 I own one and do it fine all that happens is it compresses the foam on the side panel

The space behind the panel on the FT02 is a bit limited but be persistent with it. Luckily the side panel doesnt bend so it looks nice and flat despite squeezing all those cables in.

Tip;if you look at rear of case you will see in the bottom left corner an adequate indent in which thick cables and the like can be rested on and made flush.
place the thick cables through there, and that should give you the space you need.

Tip 2.

regarding ssd placement;

Apart from attatching to rear of case in top right . You can also attatch it inside the case.

Looking at case internals, bottom left of internal , under the 5 inch bays, just above base fan left. there is a lovely space, where the hdd caddies are to affix the ssd with sticky backed Velcro. Placing ssd there gives you options as now you get an extra few inches on sata/power cables.

Tip3;
Grab some cheap screw in cable clamps and use them on rear of case to secure cables. Means you can use the whole rear back to suspend cables securely.
The problem most face with the case is that they just bundle all cables along the horizontal base of rear. With clamps you can fully utilise the vertical space too.
