Hi there, i recently bought a silverstone FT03 and loving it...but there is a tonne of vibration going through the case! its not the hard drives...and i only have the bottom intake fan and exhaust fan on the case, the 3rd fan doesn't fit due to my cooler and graphics card.

Both fans are connected to my motherboard and running at 500RPM according to my bios, at lowest speed possible any less they just stall on startup.
I thought it was the cpu fan at first, then i connected it to a fanmate controller and its only stopped the fan noise not the vibration. The vibration seems to stay even when all fans are turned on full.
Its getting so bad i have 4 cup mats under each rubber foot to stop the vibration from going through the floor...you can even hear it in the living room and my bedroom floor is insulated to keep the living room warm....

One thing that helped is taking all the side panels off...i cant help to notice but what case has steel/aluminium panels and NOT have rubbers where the slide on to? its just metal to metal!! it only helps but you can still hear my case vibrating the floor in the living room.

would my CPU cooler be causing this? there is no backplate, just 4 plastic thumbscrews which are quite tall. would they be vibrating against the motherboard tray ?

I can stop the vibration from going into the living room if i put the case on the table but i wish to avoid that for 2 reasons, the vibration is that loud even with headphones on and music, i still hear the vibrations! another reason is with my g27, my table shake a lot and the case sometimes wobbles around.

Disappointing construction quality making the case susceptible to vibration is an issue reported in several of the reviews. You could try damping the vibration using insulation tape and/or attaching thin pieces of foam or rubber along the frame and panels.

HDDs can cause vibration elsewhere, have you disconnected the drives and tested running without them? Vibration could also be transferred directly from the fans inc. the ones on the PSU and heatsink, or it could be from the airflow. You can try running different fans and speed combinations in order to find a solution, but there is no easy answer. You just have to be patient and work at it (or return the case as unsatisfactory quality)

hi there, after a good look over and, running with and without fans, it turns out its the PSU thats causing the vibration! i have ordered 2mm rubber strips to put under the PSU and a rubber PSU mounting bracket to stop the vibration also.
I have put small rubber seals on the small catches on the side panel, with a bit of force pushing the panel on it has stopped the vibration on the side panels. But im 100% sure its the PSU because the top part off the case doesn't vibrate as much as the bottom.
Once i get the strips ill upload pics off the minor modifications.
I checked the gap between the screws for the cpu cooler and the motherboard tray, its about 0.5mm gap which is enough.

Good to know as ive got the same issue with mine, my hdd is part of the problem but i think ill check out the psu :) im not entirely convinced on the hdd mounting either

I'm getting this too, caused by the psu.

Using an ocz modxstream 600w, and has a small problem that the kettle lead socket is vertical, so the internal lead comes out facing downward (out of the psu) which interferes with the side panel plastic vent - meaning I can't get the side panel on with the psu screwed in.

So initially had the psu unscrewed and sitting further back in the case (so didn't notice the vibration), until a supposed grounding issue caused a high pitch surge through the headphones.

So now I have it screwed in, with horrible vibration, and the side vent having to be deattached.
Might invest in one of those silicone psu gaskets, if it will help.

Sadly there's no other case that comes close to this in terms of features, but there are a few very irritating flaws.
