Hi all.
Thinking about buying a proper HTPC case for media center rig (it's currently housed in an old Chieftec Dragon lol). I've been looking at the LC13B, but it seems like OcUK still stock the old model instead of the revised -E model? From the posts I've found, people tend to recommend the -E over the older model, but I'm having trouble finding an -E for a reasonable price (plus delivery). So basically, my question is: is the original LC13 still worth 88 of my hard earned pounds? Reviews from back in the day give it good ratings, but people tend to criticise the cooling performance? My spec is in sig... will I have any problems with this case?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

no it isnt. the old chassis has pretty terrible cooling, same as my old lc03 - single 92mm fan at the front and two 60mm fans at the back. the new chassis has two 92's at the front and two 80mm's at the rear, with the option of a 3rd 80mm at the right side by the cpu which allows far better cooling while keping it quieter obviously.

Also, the psu is swapped to the left side of the new chassis, drawing cool air from a vent in the side of the case and venting it own air straight out the. the old chassis had the psu drawing warm air from the cpu cooler. all those little changes make for a far cooler htpc.

the new chassis is the same as my current lc17b which has had a 3ghz c2d, 3 hard drives and an 8800gtx running just fine, and not far off the temperature i was seeing with my old thermaltake mozart tx fun off 120mm cooling fans. ive since swapped out the gtx for an ati4830 again with zero problems or concerns :)

Ok cool, sounds like the newer version is far superior then. I've found it on another site for slightly more than OcUK, plus delivery = around £100. I'm guessing the extra £15 is worth it for the superior layout/cooling?
